Terberg RT283 RoRo Tractors Strengthen Heavy-Cargo Operations at Leading Chinese Terminal

Terberg has successfully delivered a fleet of RT283 RoRo tractors to one of China’s major automotive terminals, supporting their rapidly growing heavy-cargo operations. Known for handling high volumes of trailer movements and RoRo vessel loading, the terminal required tractors with towing capacities above 150 tons and strong performance under high-humidity coastal conditions.

The RT283 met these requirements with ease. Equipped with a 165-ton towing capacity, the model offers exceptional durability, corrosion resistance, and year-round reliability. Powered by Terberg Connect, operators benefit from real-time insights for safer and smarter decision-making.

It was a clear choice for our customer as the RT283 displayed its proven engineering excellence, robust traction, and ergonomic design. To further enhance operational efficiency, Terberg KCL supplied Seacom heavy-duty trailers, creating a fully integrated solution for yard and vessel operations.

As part of the delivery, the Terberg KCL engineering team conducted on-site training and commissioning, ensuring seamless adoption from day one. Terberg KCL will also provide ongoing maintenance and technical support.

Operators highlighted the impact of the Ergoturn® 180° swivelling seat, which eliminates blind spots and improves manoeuvrability in tight port environments by allowing forward-facing visibility in both travel directions.

This project marks another milestone in Terberg’s commitment to supporting China’s port and logistics sector with reliable, high-performance equipment and long-term service partnerships.
